Interior Minister Oliver Spasovski claims said that the primary suspect in the murder of Croatian handball player Denis Tot – Angelo Gjorgievski – never left the country and was hiding for several days in Skopje. The murder and the messy police response raised suspicions of a cover-up and an attempt to help the murderer escape.

All operative data we had and the narrow room for the suspect led to activities and to his arrest. He was hiding in a facility in Skopje. There was much speculation over the past days, but in the end it came out that he was in Skopje and was brought before justice. We knew that he never left Macedonia, Spasovski said.
