A series of murders were reported in Macedonia over the weekend. On top of the brutal murder of a woman in Prilep on Friday evening, a man was shot in the western Skopje area of Gjorce Petrov, while a restaurant owner was stabbed to death in Kicevo.
The murder in Skopje was reportedly due to an unresolved debt which amounted to 300 EUR. The two men met to discuss the debt and at one point the debtor allegedly pulled out a gun, which the other man managed to wrestle away and used it on him, shooting him dead.
And in Kicevo, the victim was the owner of the Gurman restaurant. Local police reported that he was found dead with stab wounds in the early afternoon hours. He was apparently killed following a short argument with another man.
