The latest rendition of the “Nalej Nalej” song reached over a million views across all platforms, with ove 170.000 just on Youtube.
The song, prepared for the censored historical series “Macedonia”, portrays the Boatmen of Veles, who carried out the audacious attacks on Solun/Thessaloniki in 1903, and later suffered persecution from both the Ottomans and some of them – the Yugoslav communist authorities. The series were banned in 2017, shortly after the change of Government, as a process to rewrite the Macedonian history and to supress national pride was initiated.
