OSCE/ODIHR representative Corien Jonker announced that her mission to observe the presidential elections in Macedonia will include 240 observers and will respond to all developments on election day.

A group of 150 observers arrived earlier this week, and will be joined by 60 observers from the OSCE and Council of Europe parliamentary assemblies.

Regarding the campaign so far, Jonker noted that there were negative stereotypes used against the VMRO-DPMNE candidate Gordana Siljanovska – Davkova, on the count of her gender and appearance. “We believe such comments are not suitable and are irrelevant for the campaign”, Jonker told MIA in an interview.
