SDSM presidential candidate Stevo Pendarovski told supporters in Veles that he will promote the idea of NATO and EU membership, while his opponent Gordana Siljanovska will put into question the Prespa treaty that renames Macedonia into North Macedonia.
I want to emphasize the difference between me and the opposition candidate. On one side I and the 31 parties and citizens that stand behind me promote the Republic of North Macedonia as party to Euro-Atlantic integrations, member of EU and NATO, with open doors for better life for all. On the other side we have a concept which questions the Prespa treaty, which also questions our EU and NATO membership, Pendarovski said.
He accused Siljanovska of promoting concepts from the 19 and 20 century, while he will bring the newly named country into the company of the most modern countries in the world.
