Some of the visitors who attended the sermon by Pope Francis in Macedonia Square in Skopje apparently did some light shopping before coming to the square.
Security took away any objects that could be thrown at the Pope, and while having a lot of metal coins or umbrellas among the haul was expected, less expected were the bottles of ketchup and mayo which were seized.
Reporters on the ground saw the unusual materials seized from the citizens. After the sermon, people rummaged through the curious cache to take their items back.
