Greek Foreign Ministry submitted to the Parliament proposals to open two new border crossings with Macedonia – one near lake Prespa and the other in the largely depopulated region of Mariovo.
The crossings are expected to be called Markova Noga (Prespa) and Majden (Mariovo). According to the MIA news agency, the two countries will ask for European Union funds to build the latter crossing. Currently there are three active crossings – the main one in Gevgelija, one near Bitola – Lerin and another near lake Dojran.
