Prosecutor Burim Rustemi lives to see former Minister Mile Janakieski in prison, said defense attorney Merdzan Dauti during today’s hearing in one of the SPO cases.

In this trial, Rustemi, who was part of the now disgraced team of Special Prosecutor Katica Janeva, is prosecuting Janakieski for his alleged role in the demolition of a large residential complex that was being built by a politically linked developer.

It’s his life’s work to see Mile Janakieski and former Mayor Toni Trajkovski behind bars, Dauti said.

The developer, Fijat Canoski, who was close to Janeva and donated money to her through intermediaries, is using the trial to try and collect a huge damages package from the state.
