Bulgarian Foreign Minister, Ekaterina Zakharieva, is facing strong public backlash following her latest scandalous statements on the dispute with Macedonia, saying that the country cannot want to join the EU and at the same time celebrate, as she said, one of the darkest dictators – Tito.
Photos of the Yugoslavia leader, stories, the respect he showed for Macedonia, the things he created are being shared on social networks.
Florian Bieber, Professor for Southeast European History and Politics at University of Graz also commented on Zakharieva’s outrageous statement.
Bulgarian MFA claims absurdly that one cannot celebrate Tito in the EU. It’s a miracle that Slovenia and Croatia entered the EU (I must have also missed all the Macedonian Tito celebrations), he tweeted.
“Republika” also has a question for the self-proclaimed steel lady: Are there any such photos of Tsar Boris?
Did he visit the eternal resting place of the “Bulgarian revolutionary” Goce Delcev? Did he bow before the tomb of the “Bulgarian fighter”?
Let Zaev freely bow with his friend Boyko in front of the Bulgarian monuments of the Macedonian Goce Delcev, let Karakachanov place so many more monuments of Delcev throughout Bulgaria. The Macedonian people remember and know their history.
