Lack of investment in infrastructure, especially in eastern Macedonia, is on full display this morning after a rock slide cut the main Makedonska Kamenica – Delcevo road.
Passengers along the A3 road, which connects this part of the country with Bulgaria, are diverted to the Vinica – Bigla – Delcevo road. Heavy truck have to go down to Berovo to reach Delcevo and Bulgaria.
Crumbling rocks are a frequent problem at this road, which zig-zags along the shore of lake Kalimanci. The opposition VMRO-DPMNE party recently blamed the Government of trying to punish this region for voting against the SDSM party by withholding infrastructure funds. Overall infrastructure spending has been way down since SDSM took over the Government.
