Russia announced unspecified measures in response after Macedonia expelled another group of six Russian diplomats. The move comes after the recent expulsion of five diplomats.

We emphasize that the consequences of this step will seriously influence the relations between Russia and Macedonia. We are convinced that this practice is contrary to the need of the people’s of our countries to have constructive cooperation, and leads to ultimate degrading of our bilateral relations. The Russian side will naturally respond, not necessarily in a symmetrical way, but in a sensitive way, said the Russian Embassy in Macedonia.
