Bulgarian authorities say that the speedometer on board of the Macedonian BESA Tours bus that was destroyed in an accident overnight with the loss of 45 lives, was completely destroyed.
This means it won’t be possible to determine the speed of the bus and how quickly was the driver going overall during the trip using this device. Investigators will have to use roadside cameras and other sources of information to determine the movement of the bus, which crossed over from Turkey late in the evening and headed to Sofia before continuing south on the highway to Dupnica on its way back to Macedonia.
