The Foreign Ministry plans to send Rexhep Demiri, former fighter in the UCK/NLA Albanian terrorist group, as ambassador to Switzerland.

Rexhepi was already sent to diplomatic posts in Germany and is consult in Munich, where famously failed in his job to help stranded Macedonians get passports.

A few years ago, on his Facebook account, he gushed about the exploits of the UCK during the 2001 civil war that his group started in Macedonia. “The Albanian spirit is everywhere. Forever in our memories, these martyrs of our nation”, wrote Demiri on the anniversary of an UCK campaign near Skopje.
