The mayor of Kriva Palanka, Borjanco Micevski, held Thursday a reception in his office for the French Ambassador Christian Thimonier, who is visiting the municipality and announced that Thimonier will be declared honorary citizen of Kriva Palanka, which will made official at a ceremony marking the city’s Liberation Day – October 8.

I am surprised and moved, especially because of my respect for what is being done in your city to nurture and respect French culture and language, said Thimonier, who said he had already been declared an honorary citizen of the city of Dion in Greece.

He stressed that the text of the French Development Agency’s cooperation agreement with the government is currently being harmonized. He added that negotiations are under way and expressed hope that co-operation would start soon.
