Bishop Timotej told Kanal 5 that the church does not recognize pagan customs for gatherings and lighting Christmas bonfires, but the recommendation, he says, remains the same for the temples.

He urged the clergy and the believers to observe health recommendations during the upcoming holidays.

We are not urging people not to visit churches, but to observe the recommendations, ie to maintain distance, to wear face masks, to protect themselves and at the same time to protect others who attend church, said the bishop.

He also believes that the traditional throwing of the holy cross in the waters for the Epiphany holiday should not be held.
