Police arrested a 24 year old man from Skopje who was driving a truck which had 34 migrants from Afghanistan hidden in the back.

The attempt to stop the vehicle was made on Friday afternoon, on the highway between Demir Kapija and Negotino. The driver tried to flee, lost control over the vehicle and had it overturned. He sustained serious injuries in the incident, as did three of the migrants. The rest have sustaiend lighter injuries.

Stopping trucks carrying migrants has become a daily occurrence in Macedonia, which sits on the Balkan migrant route.
