According to the latest United Nations report dubbed “World Happiness Report”, the world’s happiest countries are Finland, Denmark and Norway. The top 10 also include Iceland, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Sweden, New Zealand, Canada and Austria.
Factors used for the assessment include gross domestic product (GDP) per capita, generosity, freedom, socials support, perceived corruption in government and business, health care.
In Macedonia live the unhappiest people in the Balkans
According to the report, of the countries in the region, Slovenia came first, taking the 44th place in the ratings. Behind it is Kosovo in 46th place. Serbia is ranked 70th, Montenegro 73rd, Croatia 75th, Bosnia and Herzegovina 78th, and Macedonia is definitely the last, taking the 84th place on the list of 156 countries.
Observed by category, it can be seen that in the countries of the region, social support is the weakest in BiH, and the feeling of freedom is the lowest in Montenegro.
In terms of GDP per capita, Slovenia is the best ranked, and the worst is Kosovo. Access to medical care is the best in Slovenia and the worst in Macedonia.
The unhappiest people in the world are the citizens of South Sudan, the Central African Republic and Afghanistan. At the bottom of the list are Tanzania, Rwanda, Yemen, Malawi, Syria and Botswana.
