VMRO-DPMNE calls for an investigation in the work of the Special Prosecutor Katica Janeva.
Party spokesman Dimitar Arsovski said that it is finally agreed that the Special Prosecutor is not operating as she should and should no longer be in charge of the vital institution. His comments come after Justice Minister Renata Deskoska said that the ruling SDSM party does not insist that Janeva remains as head of the institution.
Arsovski said that their proposal for a new law on state prosecutors will ensure that the prosecutors are truly separated from the judiciary. During Janeva’s term, she filed dozens of criminal charges almost exclusively against VMRO-DPMNE officails, and with the help of subordinated courts many of them received lengthy detention orders or were tried based on inadmissible evidence.
