The outgoing Prime Minister was last seen in public on Sunday night after the election when, disappointed by the convincing defeat, he announced that he would step down from the government and the party.
But, everything remained only as announcement. Zaev has not submitted his resignation to the Parliament for a week, as he should do it, so that the procedure for his removal and for the fall of the government can begin.
The SDSM party said that he would resign but did not say the exact date hoping for good news from Brussels.
That Zaev hasn’t made any appearance is also shown by his Facebook as there is not post since October 31. He also did not appear in the premises of SDSM on “Bihacka” and it is said that he was seen riding a motorcycle in the mountains, although there is no photo or video of that.
There have been new developments since then. Zaev lost the already slim majority in the Parliament. Now the new consists of VMRO-DPMNE, Alliance, Alternative and Levica, which announced that they will file a government no-confidence motion today. Already on Thursday, Zaev will officially be a former prime minister.
This is not the first time Zaev has simply disappeared. He made no appearances after the French veto, which he later said had broken him.
He was not present at the inauguration of President Pendarovski, and he congratulated him on taking office through a video message recorded from who knows where.
Then the opposition reacted that Zaev did not have to be physically present because Pendarovski is his shadow who should only pardon crimes and corruption.
