EU enlargement should again be in the focus, said Justice Minister Bojan Maricic in his remarks at the EU-Western Balkans Ministerial Forum on Justice and Home Affairs in Brdo near Kranj on Friday.

At this December summit of the Council, I hope for the start of the enlargement process, by making a consensual decision to open accession negotiations and hold the First Intergovernmental Conference with Macedonia and Albania, said Maricic after sharing everything that has been realized within the Strategy for judicial reform before colleagues from the Western Balkans and EU officials, including EU Justice Commissioner Didier Reynders.

Listing all the adopted key strategic documents for further improvement of the work of judges / prosecutors as well as ensuring their independence from potential external and internal pressure, as informed by his office, Maricic announced that he is already in the process of drafting a new Strategy for the period 2023-2027.
