MP Antonio Milososki, who is part of the VMRO-DPMNE negotiating team on the PPO law, in an interview with Faktor, says the government insists on disregarding the existing SPO law and the assistants to Special Prosecutor Katica Janeva to be transferred to the prosecution for organized crime and corruption. Although one of the main goals is to preserve the SPO as a whole, which should merge with the new prosecution for organized crime and high-level corruption with full capacity and staff in which enormous amount of money was invested, his party finds it inadmissible because of the shadow on the whole team cast by some findings of VMRO-DPMNE that Katica Janeva could not extort money from businessman Orce Kamcev alone without the support and knowledge of someone inside.

The second topic that we have big differences with (SDSM) is what will happen to the assistant prosecutors to Katica Janeva. We should not discuss this issue further because it is already regulated by the existing SPO Law. The government insists that the law does not respect Janeva’s assistants, and wants to automatically transfer them to the new prosecutor’s office for organized crime and corruption. It is not a constitutional principle, because everyone has the right to be part of that new prosecution. Also under the law, Janeva’s assistants’ mandate expires as soon as the mandate of the Special Public Prosecutor expires, after which they return to their home prosecutor’s offices where their employment status is at standstill. Then everyone will be able to apply for a job in the new prosecutor’s office and once the checks have been made and the standards are met the positions will be filled in. Given the widespread abuse of “Racket” material, we have well-founded information that Katica Janeva could not do it herself, even for a businessman like Orce Kamcev. There is a reasonable suspicion that she had aides, so it is possible that they were inside the SPO, and that shadow is cast over the entire team until the responsibility of the individuals involved is established, Milososki says.
