During its session on Tuesday, the Government greenlit the draft National Strategy for the Development of Culture along with its Action Plan for the 2023-2027 period. Additionally, the Government opted to submit this draft to Parliament for further consideration.

The proposed National Strategy, presented by the Ministry of Culture, stands as a pivotal document outlining mid-term objectives and focal points for cultural development in the Republic of Macedonia. It serves as a foundational strategic blueprint within the cultural domain, impacting not only the Ministry of Culture but also other entities operating in this sphere, as highlighted in a government press release.

This document, as outlined by the Government, underscores a prevailing shift within institutional culture, indicating a greater openness, competitiveness, and a concerted effort to actively engage and gain recognition within regional, European, and global cultural arenas. The priorities outlined in this document are aligned with this overarching direction, extending until 2027.
