Vevchani is gearing up for its annual masked carnival set to unfold on its streets from January 12 to 14.

This year’s musical lineup features DJ Ampov, Young Dadi, Igor Dzhambazov, Guru Hare band, and Nokaut, who are scheduled to perform on Friday. On Saturday, Akustik Band live, Naum Petreski, Vevchani Bagpipe and Drums Orchestra, Pero Beli, and Koki Bioritam will take the stage.

The carnival concludes with the traditional burning of masks on Sunday. Anticipating a diverse audience, including international visitors, diplomats, and foreign media, Mayor Kochovski mentioned that many masks will draw inspiration from current political events.

Recognized as part of Macedonia’s intangible cultural heritage, the Vevchani Carnival has received support from the Ministry of Culture this year, amounting to Mden 1.8 million (EUR 30,000).
