VMRO-DPMNE President Hristijan Mickoski met with the director of the office of the World Bank for Macedonia and Kosovo Massimiliano Paolucci. During the meeting, Mickoski warned about the alarming levels of debt and insisted that Macedonia must quickly re-establish fiscal rules, which is something WB has also warned about.

It is necessary that we begin with fiscal consolidation and careful, prudent management of state assets with th growing challenges. We have a large amount of accumulated liabilities coming due, Mickoski said during the meeting.

Mickoski and Paolucci also discussed energy efficiency programs in municipalities and local road construction, considering the near full sweep VMRO-DPMNE in the recent local elections.
