Negotations between the SONK public teachers’ union and the Government failed today, but the two sides agreed to give it more time and SONK will not automatically resume the strike.
The Education Ministry said that the two sides agreed to determine the extent of the pay increase over the next 10 days. The Government offers 12 percent, but SONK demands more, so that teacher salaries will keep up with inflation.
