Alliance for Albanians and Alternativa require that the census is not conducted by the State Statistical Office. They say they do not trust this institution, because there was not a single Albanian in the top positions. They believe that the census should be conducted by a new special commission. The coordinator of their Parliament’s group, Skender Rexhepi, said that the government was in too much of a hurry with the new draft law and announced that they would seek changes by submitting a number of amendments.

While the government is in a hurry to pass this, according to many, controversial draft law, there is no support for it from VMRO-DPMNE either. With 26 amendments, they will try to increase the trust in the census of all citizens, and the main requirement is to implement it with fingerprints.
