Skopje mayoral candidate Danela Arsovska said that she expects to increase her margin of victory in the second round of the elections, despite the exceptionally ugly attacks her opponent Petre Silegov and the SDSM party launched against her in the last days of the campaign.

I won by 8,000 votes in the first round, and I expect that the number of those who support my vision for a modern Skopje will be even higher in the second round. The election was marked by a very dark campaign, and unfortunately, instead of competing with our visions and ideas, the purpose of these elections was to denigrate me as a candidate, as a person, as a woman, Arsovska said as she voted in the run-off today.

SDSM and Silegov launched an attack on Arsovska claiming that she is a “Bulgarian agent”.
