The MKD.mk news site claims that Bojan Jovanovski – Boki 13 was taking the employee from his 1TV television Lazar Janev, better known as the son of Special Prosecutor Katica Janeva, along with him when he was targeting companies for extortion.
The extortion was couched in the form of an advertising contract with 1TV, but Boki 13 and Lazar Janev would clearly target businesses which are under Janeva’s investigation. They offered “advertising contracts” worth between 500.000 and two million EUR, which were presented to the “customers” by Lazar Janev. According to the news site, if the owner of the targeted company blanched at the idea of paying such sums of money to a TV station that was only set up a year ago, the two would begin inquiring about the Special Prosecutor case against the owner, and to really hammer the point home, Lazar Janev would even call his mother and discuss “going easy” on the businessman.
MKD.mk claims that the request from Boki 13 and Janev was that the money are paid largely in cash, and if the pressure failed, they would send in Zoran Mileski – Zoki Kicheec, who was the “muscle” of the operation.
Boki 13 and Zoki Kicheec were arrested on Monday for extorting 1.5 million EUR from one of the richest Macedonians Jordan Orce Kamcev, promising him that they would get Janeva to drop the money laundering charges against Kamcev. Janeva is still not charged but had her phone seized and resigned as Special Prosecutor in disgrace, while the police also seized Lazar Janev’s computer.
