Former Prime Minister and SDSM leader Vlado Buckovski expects that Zoran Zaev will pay a heavy price at the upcoming presidential and possible early general elections.
Buckovski said that he approves Zaev’s move to sign a treaty with Greece and rename Macedonia in exchange for joining NATO and possible the European Union. But, according to Buckovski, the deeply unpopular move which was rejected by the public at the September 2018 referendum will cost him.
Zaev will pay at the early general elections or at the presidential elections for what he did, for the name change, said Buckovski.
SDSM is still thinking whether to accept the request from the opposition VMRO-DPMNE party to hold early general elections in late April or early May, along with the regularly scheduled presidential elections.
