The Committee on Election and Appointment Issues unanimously and without debate decided to urge Parliament to dismiss special public prosecutor Katica Janeva, who is a suspect in the “Racket” case.

The decision was made on the basis of the Council of Public Prosecutors’ report on Janeva’s dismissal due to unprofessional and reckless conduct.

The Commission’s conclusion will be forwarded to Parliament Speaker Talat Xhaferi, who is due to convene a plenary session on Janeva’s dismissal. The plenary session will not discuss the report of the Council of Public Prosecutors but only the proposal for dismissal. The decision shall be taken by a two-thirds majority and by the so-called Badinter vote, and finally, the Council of Prosecutors should confirm it.
