The city of Debar and the surrounding area remain under quarantine after the coronavirus outbreak. Police checkpoints control all traffic east and south and the border crossings toward Albania are closed.

Only people who live in the area are allowed in, after disinfecting their vehicles, and nobody is allowed out. The city is also being scrubbed with disinfectant, said local municipal official Omer Cami. Debar hospital director Baki Halili said that there is one isolation room prepared while confirmed corona patients are sent to Skopje for treatment. Some 40 citizens in total are ordered to isolate in their homes.
