Prime Minister Zoran Zaev flew back from Brussels following his defeat at the European Council, which did not approve the opening of EU accession talks in October.
The state run MIA news agency described the situation in the Government as one of on-going political consultations and analyzing different options. This comes in light of the initiative from President Stevo Pendarovski to hold a meeting of party leaders on Sunday.
The also pro-Government SDK news site reports that Zaev is considering resigning. Zaev made this threat repeatedly in the run up to the both the June and the October summit, but it’s unclear to what extent was he serious, or whether he was thinking it will help him win over the more enlargement skeptical countries like France.
