Deputy PM for European Affairs Nikola Dimitrov is paying on Thursday and Friday a visit to Germany for meetings with top officials of the new German cabinet.
The program includes meetings with senior officials of the newly formed German government, including the new Minister of State for Europe – Anna Lührmann, who will meet with Deputy Prime Minister Dimitrov on the first day of taking office from Michael Roth.
He will use the visit in the first days of the mandate of Chancellor Scholz’s government to focus on Macedonia’s EU bid and Germany’s engagement in the region.
In addition to meetings at the Foreign Ministry and the Bundestag, Dimitrov will raise the issue of the region’s European integration at the annual conference of the European Council on Foreign Relations (ECFR) – a key event on the European political calendar that unites the continent’s top decision makers, eminent intellectuals, representatives of NGOs and the think tank community.
In May this year, Deputy Prime Minister Nikola Dimitrov became an official member of the ECFR, a leading international think tank dedicated to European foreign and security policy.
