Ilija Dimovski, VMRO-DPMNE MP and chairman of the Parliament’s Committee on Elections and Appointments, asked for an open session on the dismissal of Special Prosecutor Katica Janeva, a third suspect in the “Racket” affair.
The session is scheduled for Thursday.
According to Dimovski, there is no reason for the session to be held behind closed doors in a case when the public interest should be given priority.
He announced today that he would ask the president of the Council of Public Prosecutors to declassify the report. According to Dimovski, the question of whether the session to discuss Janeva’s dismissal will be public or closed should be decided by the committee with a two-thirds majority instead of the Council of Public Prosecutors.
However, he stressed that the Committee on Elections and Appointments should be open to the public because it would give citizens greater confidence in the legislature and the judiciary.
