Grade inflation caused a protest in front of the Government building today, as 330 straight A grade elementary school graduates applied for the Orce Nikolov high-school in Skopje’s Karpos district, where only 285 places were available.
An announcement that the applicants will have to be tested to determine who gets in caused the protest organized by their parents, who demanded that Government officials meet with them.
Shortly after the protest was held, it was announced that all straight A students will be admitted into the school and distributed through the classes.
Another 70 who had lower averages also applied for the high school.
