The new composition of the European Parliament will elect new rapporteurs for the Western Balkan countries in the fall, current rapporteur for Serbia David Mcallister informed.
He said that following the European elections, the EP’s Foreign Policy Committee got many members, while some of the most experienced, when it comes to the countries of the Western Balkans, are leaving, such as Eduard Kukan, Knut Fleckenstein, Charles Tannock and Ivo Vajgl.
The term of the current rapporteur for Macedonia, Ivo Vajgl, ends on July 1.
This will be a new generation of MEPs and I hope that we will find colleagues from all EU members who are interested in the Western Balkans, noted Mcallister.
