On November 11, professors and teachers will go on a general strike. They do not accept the proposed 10 percent increase in salaries in the education sector. The decision was taken at Friday’s session of the Council of the Trade Union of Education, Science and Culture (SONK), said SONK President Jakim Nedelkov.
SONK will not organize protests or marches but simply will not hold classes.
Nedelkov demanded their requests to be met before the interim government, as the deal was the raise to be included in the 2020 budget.
We are too correct and modest, these requests are not from yesterday or today, these requests are from a long time ago. This period is a surprise, we did not expect early elections. We have been working on this for a long time, we had decisive relations with the Education Ministry, this is not pre-election blackmail, Nedelkov said.
