Macedonian police found 17 illegal migrants from Bangladesh in three vehicles that were stopped near Strumica.

The cars were driven by two men from Skopje and one from a village near Skopje. They were stopped on the Strumica – Valandovo road, near the entrance to Strumica. Inside the vehicles were a total of 17 Bangladeshis, who were taken to the Strumica police station, along with the drivers.

Macedonia is on the main Balkan migrant route, which was used by millions during the major 2015-16 crisis, and continus to be used by estimated tens of thousands of migrants each year.
