The Day of the Lake, traditionally marked on this date by the mayors of Ohrid, Struga, and Debarce was canceled. This is the first event canceled after the Struga Mayor Ramiz Merko was blacklisted by the US State Department.

“The event has been canceled because the Mayor was needed elsewhere”, briefly informed the Mayor’s Cabinet.

Merko’s party, DUI, has not yet publicly commented.
