Special prosecutors received compensation for the confidentiality of their work on the wiretaps from the “bombs”. The fees sometimes were as high as their regular salaries, TV Telma’s “Kod” show says.

This decision is classified information and prosecutors have been agreed to keep silent about the fees until the end of their lives. After the termination of the term of SPO chief Katica Janeva no one can release her from the secrecy, “Kod” learns.

The compensation in addition to regular salary was paid on the basis of contractual services. Exactly the contractual service item is the highest in the SPO financial statements for the last three years. Contractual services include expert payments, consulting services and employee payments, which are a secret decision.

Contractual services are mostly paid in 2018, or 2 million euros. The previous year 1,600,000 euros were disbursed from the SPO budget for that purpose.

“Kod” also compares SPO’s financial statements with those of the Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime and Corruption, led by prosecutor Vilma Ruskovska. The comparison shows that the SPO had 8 times higher budget than Ruskovska’s budget.
