One of the Islamists that carried out yesterday’s attacks in Vienna was an ethnic Albanian originally from Tetovo, Macedonia, Austrian media outlets are reporting.

One attacker was killed and four captured after murdering at least five civilians and wounding more than a dozen, while shooting with automatic rifles along Vienna streets and restaurants. The names of the attackers haven’t been published yet, but one name has surfaced – 20 year old Kurtin S., born in Vienna, from a family who emigrated there from Tetovo. He is reportedly the attacker who was killed by the police yesterday, while he was trying to self-detonate.

Journalist Florian Klenk reports that the attacker was on a terror watch list of the Austrian security services after he tried to travel to Syria. Kurtin was stopped in his attempt and was kept under watch in Austria.
