The Lider news site reports that a major police operation was being planned for Saturday evening, but was called off. According to the site, which cites sources within the police, the likely target was the Special Prosecutor’s Office.
We were called up for an important operation, but when we showed up, we were told to go back home. More than 200 officers from all departments were called up, a police officer told Lider.
The rumors of an impending operation spread as the 360 Degrees investigative reporting program informed that disgraced Special Prosecutor Katica Janeva ordered that all traces of activities by her and other colleagues are deleted from the SPO computers. The SPO issued a denial, saying that Janeva didn’t order the deletion of files and evidence, but the denial didn’t say anything about the original report, that she asked the removal of logs and traces of activities.
