Justice Minister Krenar Lloga confirmed that the European Union’s recommendations from the peer review mission on the Judicial Council would be integrated into the amendments of the Law on Judicial Council by a dedicated working group. Minister Lloga emphasized the importance of aligning with EU standards.

“We formed a dedicated working group even before receiving the peer review report. It will thoroughly assess the required standards in the coming days. Ultimately, these standards will be incorporated into the law through amendments,” Lloga informed journalists.

The EU’s peer review report on the Judicial Council outlined 40 recommendations across six key areas: structure and competencies, members’ terms, judge selection and election process, disciplinary procedures, transparency and public communication, and resources and funding.

The peer review mission, consisting of experts from Croatia, Belgium, and Italy, conducted an in-depth analysis of the legal framework during their stay in September. They engaged with relevant institutions and experts from the non-governmental sector in the country.
