At the invitation of NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg, Foreign Minister Nikola Dimitrov will take part in a meeting of the Alliance member states’ foreign ministers in Brussels on Wednesday, which is the latest preparation for the NATO summit in London on 3-4 December.

The Macedonian Foreign Ministry informed that Macedonia, which currently holds the status of an “invited” country for NATO membership, will actively participate in Alliance talks on complex strategic issues.

Minister Dimitrov is intended to reaffirm our commitment and support to key NATO policies as a future member state on issues of crucial importance to the Alliance: fair distribution of the financial burden, counter-terrorism, adapting NATO policies and strategies to the changing security environment, contributing to international operations, dealing with unconventional security threats and other issues of common interest, reads the Foreign Ministry’s statement.

On the sidelines of the meeting, FM Dimitrov will hold several bilateral meetings with the foreign ministers of NATO member states, as well as with senior officials of the Alliance.
