Chancellor Angela Merkel said that it would not be good if Macedonia and Albania are left without an EU perspective.
Germany is prepared to discuss the French proposal to change the way in which new countries are added to the European Union, Merkel added, speaking at the EPP party conference in Zagreb. She was talking along with host Andrej Plenkovic, the Croatian Prime Minister, who also expressed his regret that Macedonia and Albania were blocked by France, and other EU member states, from opening the accession talks.
