There is no response to the latest threats of the Bulgarian Foreign Minister Ekaterina Zaharieva, who reiterated the official position of Bulgaria that if Macedonia does not recognize the Bulgarian roots, Bulgaria will block its entry into the EU.

VMRO-DPMNE President Hristijan Mickoski reacted Saturday to Bulgaria’s insistence that our country should recognize the “historical truth”.

Ten hours have passed since Zaharieva’s latest statement. No response from Macedonia’s official authorities, some of the media even reported that in order to move forward we need to recognize the “historical truth”. And the historical truth according to our eastern neighbor was that we have Bulgarian roots. This is not truth, but politics. The problem is Zaev who does nothing to represent our truth, and it unwaveringly says that Delcev is a Macedonian, the Macedonian identity is our uniqueness to which we have a primordial right and a European future that they owe us.
