Following the election of Gordana Siljanovska – Davkova for President, VMRO-DPMNE will remain in the streets until Zaev agrees to hold early general elections, said opposition leader Hristijan Mickoski during the election rally in Demir Hisar.

Zoran Zaev’s Government refused to hold early general elections along with the presidential elections, but after much pushing from Mickoski, Zaev eventually agreed that if Siljanovska beats his candidate Stevo Pendarovski, then early elections will be called. Still, considering how Zaev freqently moves the goalposts and denies saying things he said on tape, Mickoski insisted that only a massive movement would be able to secure the elections.

With these elections, my brothers and sisters, we opened the door for early general elections. It’s not that we trust Zoran Zaev, but as soon as we have secured and defended the decency of the institution President of the Republic of Macedonia, as soon as professor Siljanovska – Davkova is elected, we will remain out in the streets until Zaev holds true to his promise, until early general elections are called, Mickoski declared
