The Chicago based whistleblower known as El Cheka threatened Zoran Zaev that he will publish audio tapes revealing details of Ali Ahmeti’s complicity in framing ethnic Albanians in crimes.

El Cheka is referring to the Sopot case – the murder trial after two Polish soldiers and an ethnic Macedonian civilian were killed by a landmine planted by suspected Albanian insurgents along the Macedonia – Kosovo border in 2003. Eleven ethnic Albanians were sentenced in the trial, conducted by judges and prosecutors during the previous SDSM – DUI led coalition Government.

El Cheka blames Ahmeti for the trial and demands that he and Zaev resign. He claims to be close to the group of Albanian terrorists from Macedonia and Kosovo who perpetrated the 2015 attack on Kumanovo. The 30 survivors of the group are imprisoned, most of them in a prison near Skopje which is practically under their control, but El Cheka claims that Zaev and Ahmeti are preparing “something” against the group which was openly denouncing Ahmeti and the VMRO-DPMNE led Government of Nikola Gruevski at the time of their attack. Ahmeti initiated the 2001 war in Macedonia and has been a near permanent fixture of all Governments ever since, but the Kumanovo group seemed prepared to replace him in the position he carved for himself.
