President Stevo Pendarovski is convening the National Security Council to discuss the issue of disastrous air pollution.
Besides the Council, Pendarovski has invited members of green NGO groups, Environment Minister Naser Nuredini, his deputy Jani Makraduli and chief environment inspector Fejzula Spahija to attend the meeting.
High school protests broke out on Friday, as part of the global Fridays for the future movement, as Macedonian cities are again regularly features among the worst polluted cities in the world due to the use of unclean fuels for heating and for fueling the industry. It’s estimated that 3.000 people die each year from the consequences of air pollution.
