The number of students in the primary and lower secondary schools at the beginning of the 2021-2022 school year was 186,649, a decrease of 0.5 percent compared to the previous school year, according to the latest figures released by the State Statistical Office.

In the regular high schools, on the other hand, at the beginning of the school year 2021/2022, the number of students was 71,018, a decrease of 1.1 percent compared to the previous school year.
